Dr. Julian Parkhill (WTSI) is the Head of the PSU. He has published over 120 articles and commentaries in the scientific literature, and is ranked as the 9th most highly cited microbiologist in the world between 1995 and 2006, according to the ISI (http://www.in-cites.com/top/2006/sixth06-mic.html). His primary interests are in the genomic sequencing and analysis of bacteria, and the use of this data in understanding the evolution and host-interactions of pathogenic and commensal organisms.

Dr. Oluf Pedersen (NN-SDC) is a professor of molecular diabetology, chief physician and director of research in molecular genetics at Steno Diabetes Center. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed original papers most of which are within the field of the molecular pathogenesis of obesity and type 2 diabetes. In Web of Science he holds a H-index of 52.

Dr Eric Pelletier (CEA - Genoscope), PhD, is a senior researcher. Bioinformatician, with a background in immunology and in genetics, he was involved in the Human Genome Project. Now he is interested in several metagenomics projects and in genome sequence reconstruction from environmental data.
